Welcome to the Website of Eastern Dooars B.Ed Training College under the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University. There has been a long felt need of establishing a new B.Ed. as well as M.Ed. College for the Students of Jalpaiguri, especially of Dooars, Eastern part of Alipurduar and Cooch Behar with a view to giving scope to the teacher education degree to enhance skill and competency to join in the Teaching Profession. Such degree, now in a knowledge based society, may be treated as an essential prerequisite for becoming a teacher in a Secondary / Higher Secondary Schools.

Academic

Our college offers a variety of facilities, including ICT-enabled classrooms and an e-library with lots of books. In addition, we provide various co-curricular activities such as excursions and field trips. These activities not only enhance students’ learning experience but also allow them to explore different subjects. The ICT-enabled classrooms enable students to study effectively and think critically at various levels.

Our Programmes

D.El.Ed

The two-year D.El.Ed programme, also called the Diploma in Elementary Education, is a diploma-level programme. Candidates can pursue it after completing their 12th grade, and it will prepare them to teach in elementary and higher elementary schools.

B.Ed

A teacher has to renew and update his/her teaching. Competency all along his/her career and B.Ed programme is just the first base of this teaching process. Keeping proper emphasis on the need of the Society and to meet the future challenges in the field of Education.

M.Ed

The advantages of M. Ed. include the ability to pursue careers as a professor, lecturer, school principal, curriculum creator, and subject matter expert due to the training provided with this programme. Since the M. Ed. is an advanced degree in the field of education, a person who completes it is eligible for senior position.

Computer Lab

The computer laboratory functions as the focal point for instructing entire classes on computer utilization, typically led by a specialized computer educator. Additionally, classroom instructors utilize the lab for conducting research or developing technology-driven assignments with their students.

Class Room

College classrooms are usually arranged in a lecture hall or auditorium, where a single instructor, commonly referred to as a professor, conducts the class. Typically, the professor is accompanied by a Teacher Assistant (TA), who is a graduate student. The TA may assist in administering and grading tests, as well as conducting review sessions for college students, which are usually held once or twice a week.

Library

A Wi-Fi-enabled library is set up on the college premises. The whole library is operated with the automated software KOHA. There are more than 12 L+ text books in the system. Students are enjoying reading anywhere on our website.
